Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!

Oops!  Looks like I'm a bit late in extending our greetings but still not too late! May the Mid-Autumn Festival bring good fortune and happiness to all our friends, both two legged and four legged.  Ning wants to thank his buddies from the Long Tails Club for an exhilarating Festival evening drowning themselves in beer. I'm glad they enjoyed themselves!  My evening was spent with the nuns, gazing at the moon and listening to Head Nun's tales of old and munching mooncakes.  I discovered that evening that Head Nun actually writes poems, something which she hadn't told me about before.  I liked the one which she calls "Where The Heart Belongs" and I'm so excited that she gave me permission to post it below.

Where the Heart Belongs

The silvery moon glides quietly across the sky,
Her silken robes billowing in the soft breeze.
The twinkling stars bow in homage as they watch her nightly journey.
The sweet smell of jasmine fills the air as I gaze up at her splendour,
Oh how my heart yearns to be with my brethen back home!

Oh foolish heart!  Why do you yearn so?
How many springs and summers have flown by
Since you left home.
Here in the present is where you belong,
And here you'll stay until winter comes and goes.
Then you will be forever free,
Free to soar to the vastness of the skies
And beyond,
For that is truly where you belong.

Beautiful, isn't it but rather sad.  Head Nun, I hope one day you will have your poems published and I shall be the first to buy your book!
