Hello! As the author of this blog, I would like to introduce you to the two lovable cats who have been the heroes of my stories.
Da and Ning, as I call them, are real life cats who live in a temple close to my home. I see them whenever I go there for prayers and that was when I mooted the idea of writing adventure stories using them as my "heroes". They are both quite old and if you were to calculate their age in human years, they would be close to 90! The temple itself, if I'm not mistaken, is around 70 years old and houses a beautiful shrine and a small primary school.
Let me tell you a little about the cats and other characters in my stories.
Ning is quiet and likes to laze in the garden outside the temple kitchen. In my stories, his character is that of a flamboyant, happy-go-lucky cat but one who hides a warm heart behind that nonchalant front.
T.K., the third cat in the stories who keeps in the background most of the time, went blind a few months ago and sadly, died from old age recently. He was also a quiet little creature and a close friend of the other two cats but for my stories, he shall still be alive!
Mimi, the green-eyed ginger cat and Tom, her spouse, are both fictional and added to my stories to give them a little kick!
Head Nun, who in real life is 98 years old, is a lovely old nun who had been with the temple for as long as I can remember. She is quiet and unassuming and loves the three cats whom she personally feeds. She also has green fingers and grows a variety of orchids in the temple garden.
Both Lao Lo and Ah Hoe are fictional characters. So is Bruce Lee, the cockerel with a big ego!
So now you know who's who, I hope you will continue to read about them!
To Da and Ning, thanks so much for being just you and I hope you will both be around for many more years!
To Head Nun, a big hug and many thanks for taking good care of my two heroes!
Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu!
